The 2020 Clemson football team will begin spring practice today and that spells joy for the masses of Tiger nation waiting for football to return.

There’s nothing like Clemson football.

We wait all year for the Tigers to play, it happens in a flash and then it’s back to waiting again. Well, beginning Wednesday there will at least be a form of Clemson football for fans to enjoy: Spring Practice.

Though Clemson football fans won’t be able to actually watch the Tigers, it does mean that there’s at least a speck of football in the air.

Tiger fans will get several real news and notes about the 2020 team. They’ll be able to hear about the performances of several key freshmen. They’ll be able to listen to the coaches as they talk about positional battles, strengths, weaknesses and areas to watch over the coming weeks.

Though it’s not real football in terms of watching in a stadium or preparing for an opponent, and it’s more for the coaches and players than it is for the fans, spring practice at least gives us an opportunity to hear more about the Tigers.

Much of what we hear in spring practice translates over to fall camp and then on the field.

There are many times that Clemson football coaches will praise a player in spring practice and then all of a sudden that player has a breakout season once fall arrives. There have been other times where coaches have challenged players in the media and that has led to improvement.

Next. The future of Clemson's DL is absolutely frightening. dark

It’s obviously not the same and it certainly won’t create as much excitement as when late-August rolls around, but spring practice is still something for Clemson football fans to enjoy and it’s a great time to get caught up on the program, learn about potential breakout stars and dream about when football will actually arrive in just six months from now.

Let football spring fever begin.
