Former Clemson football QB Deshaun Watson has had quite the run in the NFL. Coming into 2020, Watson is one of the MVP favorites.

The way-too-early odds for the 2020 NFL MVP Award were released earlier this month and a former Clemson football player was included on the list.

Former Clemson football QB Deshaun Watson took over the starting position for the Houston Texans a couple of seasons ago and has now led the Texans to two-straight playoff appearances. While Houston has been eliminated before reaching the AFC Championship game in each of the two seasons, Watson remains one of the most promising young QBs in the league.

He participated in the Pro Bowl for a second-straight season and there is reason to believe that he- and the Texans, for that matter- will take the next steps forward in the coming seasons.

Coming into 2020, Watson is considered one of the odds favorites to win the 2020 NFL MVP Award. Here’s a look at the early favorites.

Currently, Watson has the fourth-highest odds to win the award.

When looking at the Texans, there’s no question that Houston needs to address the offensive line issues heading into 2020. The Texans had one of the worst offensive lines for yet another year and that’s certainly not helping Watson orchestrate the offense efficiently.

In addition, it wouldn’t hurt for Houston to add another receiving threat to its wide receiver room for more depth outside out DeAndre ‘Nuk’ Hopkins and Will Fuller, who has struggled with injuries.

Watson is, without a doubt, one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league and there’s no reason not to believe that the former Clemson football star will continue to shine at the next level.
