The Clemson football program will see several former players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. Here’s a look at our profile for OG John Simpson.

The Clemson football program has several prospects that NFL organizations will be keeping their eyes on as we head into the spring.

The Tigers currently have two first-round projections in Isaiah Simmons and Tee Higgins, with several mid and late-round projections, as well.

Here’s a look at our 2020 NFL Draft Profile for OG John Simpson.

2020 NFL Draft Profile: John Simpson

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 330 pounds

Draft Projection: 3-4 rounder

Analysis:

John Simpson is one of those prospects who is highly intriguing for several NFL organizations heading into the Combine.

Simpson is a strong, sturdy interior lineman who has the ability to be a solid pass-protection and to open up holes in the running game. Simpson plays with good technique and does a solid job in handling blitzing situations when they arise, as well.

Currently, Simpson is projected as a 3-4 rounder, but much of that will depend on his performance out at the NFL Combine and at Clemson’s Pro Day in just a few weeks. Simpson has shown good range and strength to play at the next level, but he’ll have to do it on the next stage with many of his peers around.

I don’t expect Simpson to climb up into the second-round, but I do think he has the opportunity to solidify himself as a third-rounder with a solid showing in the spring. NFL organizations are always looking for the next offensive lineman to solidify themselves in the trenches and Simpson will be a gem for anyone looking for a guy with starter potential in the mid-rounds of the draft.

dark. Next. Dabo Swinney might be the best boss ever
