Clemson Football: People still believe Trevor Lawrence is a ‘bust’
Despite the show of greatness, many still believe that Clemson football QB Trevor Lawrence won’t turn out to be a successful professional.
Trevor Lawrence has led the Clemson football program to two-straight National Championship appearances.
During his first two seasons, Lawrence has completed 527-of-804 attempts (65.5 percent) for 6,945 yards (8.6 YPA) and 66 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. He has a career QB rating of 166.7.
He has lost one game in his career.
Despite his highlight reel, stature, impressive arm strength and clear high-level comprehension, there are still fans out there that believe Lawrence will be a ‘bust.’

Thoughts:
People want to somehow discredit Lawrence because of his shaky start last season, but they don’t want to look at the year as a whole.
Lawrence was named the Offensive MVP against an Ohio State defense with NFL talent all over it. Though he started out with a high amount of interceptions, he finished the year with 36 touchdowns and eight interceptions- a QB rating of 166.7.
Statistically, Lawrence improved in every single category during his sophomore season compared to his freshman campaign- other than he threw eight interceptions instead of four.
Anyone who truly believes Lawrence is a ‘bust’ clear doesn’t watch Clemson football. You can believe what you want about the quarterback, but the truth is that he’s going to be the No. 1 overall draft pick next spring for a reason.
There may not be a quarterback with a stronger arm than Lawrence in the entire nation, including in the NFL.
He’s continuing to grow and develop as a quarterback, and with one more year under his belt, there’s no reason to believe that Lawrence won’t take the next step into becoming an elite QB who makes an immediate impact at the next level, no matter what opposing fans want to believe.
