The Clemson football offense is going to be extremely explosive during the 2020 season with the potential top 1-2 RB punch in the nation.

Remember how explosive and nearly unstoppable that LSU offense was during the 2019 season? Well, there’s an opportunity for Clemson football to have something of the same in 2020.

The Tigers return WRs Justyn Ross and Amari Rodgers– along with several other talented options- and will have QB Trevor Lawrence at the helm for a third season.

While the passing game should be fun to watch, one of the most intriguing areas of strength for the Tigers comes in the running back room.

Travis Etienne, the all-time rushing leader in Clemson football history, announced that he’d be returning for his senior season. The Tigers will also have explosive RB Lyn-J Dixon in the backfield, as well.

Dixon indicated on Twitter that he’d be returning after speculation that he might transfer.

Assuming the two are together next season, we could be looking at the best ‘1-2 punch’ in the nation at running back. We didn’t see Clemson football utilize the 1-2 punch as much last season, but I’d expect that we see more of that and a commitment to the running game this season as the Tigers look to establish dominance.

Not only would Clemson be returning the best 1-2 punch at running back in the nation, the Tigers will also bring back sophomores Chez Mellusi and Michel Dukes. They’ll also be adding 5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman– who has been compared to C.J. Spiller– to the fold.

When you look at the talent, depth and overall explosiveness of this unit, you’ve got to think that Tony Elliott is chomping at the bit to get on the field with this group and find ways to get these play-makers involved in the offense.

Next. Clemson may have found its next Hunter Renfrow. dark

The depth is real and it’s going to be a problem for opponents in 2020 as they look to slow down what could be the most prolific offense in the nation.
