The 2020 Clemson football schedule will be released Wednesday morning. Here’s a look at how the Tigers would like it to line up.
The 2020 Clemson football schedule will be released live on the ACC Network’s ‘Packer and Durham show’ beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The show will unveil the full schedules for all of the ACC football programs for the 2020 season.
At this point, we already know who the 12 opponents will be for Clemson football with the four non-conference games already being scheduled.
Here’s a look at the opponents and then our projection for the “perfect” schedule for the Tigers.
Non-Conference Opponents:
- Akron (Saturday, Sept. 19)
- @ Notre Dame (Saturday, Nov. 7)
- The Citadel (Saturday, Nov. 14)
- South Carolina (Saturday, Nov. 28)
This 2020 Clemson football schedule is going to look quite different than what we’ve grown accustomed to in the past. The Tigers will open up the season with at least one, likely two conference opponents, before playing a non-conference game against Akron- scheduled for Sept. 19.
Here’s a look at how we would like to see the 2020 Clemson football schedule set up, including the bye week.
Keep in mind, this is our projection for the schedule and not the official schedule, which will be released on Wednesday.
2020 Projected Schedule:
Week 1: vs. NC State
Week 2: @ Georgia Tech
Week 3: vs. Akron (Previously announced)
Week 4: @ Boston College
Week 5: vs. Virginia
Week 6: BYE WEEK
Week 7: @ Florida State
Week 8: vs. Syracuse
Week 9: vs. Louisville
Week 10: @ Notre Dame (previously announced)
Week 11: vs. The Citadel (previously announced)
Week 12: @ Wake Forest
Week 13: vs. South Carolina (previously announced)
With the schedule we concocted, you’d see Clemson not play back-to-back weeks on the road all season with a bye week basically right in the middle of the season, right before the road trip to Tallahassee.
Opening up with NC State of all the ACC opponents would be a fun way to kick off the season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Tigers have that game be on a Thursday night as it was last year.
