The Clemson football team will take on the LSU Tigers next Monday in the National Championship. Here are five areas of concern.

The Clemson football program is just one win away from accomplishing the feat of back-to-back National Championships.

The Tigers have won 29-straight games to this point and are playing their best brand of football as we head into the big match-up.

There are plenty of reasons to pick Clemson football, but today let’s take a look at a few of the concerns as the Tigers prepare to take on LSU.

5. Field goal kicking

The first concern is the one that strikes fear into the heart of Clemson football fans everywhere: Field goal kicking.

BT Potter missed a field goal early in the game against Ohio State and has been extremely inconsistent throughout this entire season.

As Clemson started deep in its own territory for what would be the game-winning drive, Tiger fans everywhere were hoping the game wouldn’t come down to a field goal.

The National Championship is no exception.

While no one expects this game to be a ‘field goal kind of game,’ it certainly could be an important aspect for getting on the board early or maintaining momentum as the match-up plays out.

It has nothing to do with pure talent, but Potter hasn’t been able to consistently finish off drives for the Tigers and it has to be at least a small concern in the back of the mind as we head into the game.
