Clemson football WR Amari Rodgers told the media that he won’t be entering the NFL Draft and will instead return for a final year with the Tigers.

The Clemson football program received really good news Tuesday morning when WR Amari Rodgers told the media that he’d be returning for his senior season.

Rodgers, who has 27 receptions for 380 yards and five touchdowns on the season, has been a player that most Tiger fans saw as ‘on-the-fence’ in terms of if he’d return for his senior year or enter the NFL Draft.

Though Rodgers hasn’t necessarily had the greatest season statistically, he still would’ve tested well due to his elite athleticism and explosiveness and would’ve been drafted at some point during spring’s draft.

However, Rodgers said he would be returning for another year and that will give him an opportunity to be a featured option for the Tigers at wide receiver and improve his draft stock through the 2020 Clemson football season.

Rodgers has the capability of moving up into the second round, potentially the first round, of the 2021 NFL Draft and it’s clear that his play-making ability will be well-sought-after by NFL organizations.

Rodgers returning certainly bodes well for the Clemson football program.

The Tigers will be losing Tee Higgins to the NFL Draft, as well as Diondre Overton. Clemson will rely heavily on the duo of Justyn Ross and Rodgers in 2020, as well as an emergence from guys like Cornell Powell, Frank Ladson Jr. and Joseph Ngata.

It will be interesting to see the chemistry built between Rodgers, Ross and Trevor Lawrence over the course of this offseason as the Tigers look to get back to the CFB Playoff for a sixth-straight season next year.
