The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is already one of the best in the country, but could it get better with a couple 5-star additions?

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, according 247 Sports’ Composite Team Rankings.

The Tigers’ talented class is highlighted by some big names including: 5-star DL Bryan Bresee, 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei, 5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman, 5-star DT Demonte Capehart, 5-star DE Myles Murphy and 5-star DB Fred Davis II, to name a few.

As we progress closely to Early National Signing Day, Clemson football is still in the hunt for a couple more 5-star talents: DE Jordan Burch and LB Justin Flowe.

Here’s a look at where the Tigers stand with the two prospects heading down the stretch, beginning with Flowe.

5-star LB Justin Flowe

Flowe announced a top-four of Clemson, Miami, Georgia and Oregon. At the time of his announcement, it seemed that the Tigers and Bulldogs were the favorites to win his services, but lately Miami has come on strong.

The Hurricanes football staff feels like they’ve got a strong chance to land Flowe and the room is becoming a bit more crowded down the stretch for the nation’s No. 1 linebacker.

Flowe took an official to Clemson during the Wofford game and reportedly had a great time. He took a trip to Miami the previous week and then followed up the trip to Tiger Town with visits to Georgia and Oregon.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the 5-star LB choose any of the four schools on his list, but Clemson still remains a slight favorite at this point.

5-star DE Jordan Burch

Burch never took an official visit to Clemson, South Carolina or Georgia, but he did take them to LSU and Alabama. It should also be noted that he did take an unofficial visit to Columbia when the Tigers matched up with the Gamecocks.

Burch hasn’t been back on the Clemson campus since the All-In Cookout earlier this summer. Though the 247 Sports’ crystal ball predictions still favor the Tigers, it seems like things are coming down to LSU and South Carolina for the defensive end.

You never really know because they’ve kept his recruitment so tight to the vest, but when you arrange all the tea leaves, it certainly looks like the Tigers and Bulldogs have cooled off while LSU and South Carolina have continued to gain traction. Burch also took an unofficial visit back to Alabama this past weekend, according to 247 Sports, so he could still be considering the Crimson Tide.

If he doesn’t take a visit to Clemson between now and signing day, it says one of two things: Either he stopped considering the Tigers a while back, or he already knew what he had in Clemson and wanted to make sure it was the right school for him.

At this point, we would give about a 25 percent chance that Burch signs with Clemson football, but closer to a 60 percent chance that Flowe joins the Tigers.
