The Clemson football team had members all over the All-ACC team, which was released Tuesday morning as part of ‘championship week.’

The Clemson football team had a total of 16 Tigers voted onto the All-ACC team, which was released Tuesday morning.

The Tigers had double the number of the next closest programs (Wake Forest and Pittsburg each had eight) and the 16 selections are tied for third-most in school history, just behind the 2018 Clemson football team (18 selections) and the 2015 team (17 selections), according to ClemsonTigers.com.

In addition to having 16 total players voted All-ACC, the Tigers led the league in first-team votes with eight players.

Here’s a look at the Clemson football players who were voted All-ACC this season, beginning with the first-team.

All-ACC First-Team Selections:

  • QB Trevor Lawrence
  • RB Travis Etienne
  • WR Tee Higgins
  • OT Tremayne Anchrum
  • OG John Simpson
  • LB Isaiah Simmons
  • CB A.J. Terrell
  • S Tanner Muse

When you look at those first-team selections, there’s not really any you can argue. Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne have proven to be the best QB-RB duo in the conference and one of the best in the nation. Tee Higgins has been a dominant force at wide receiver, especially over the course of the last few games.

Clemson has consistently had the best offensive line in the ACC, resulting in two selections on the first-team.

Defensively, it’s a bit surprising that the Tigers only had three selections on the first-team, but all three are clearly deserving. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Isaiah Simmons and Travis Etienne, maybe even Trevor Lawrence, battle over the ACC Player of the Year honors.

All-ACC Second-Team Selections:

  • OG Gage Cervenka
  • C Sean Pollard
  • DT Tyler Davis
  • CB Derion Kendrick

Freshman DT Tyler Davis stands out on this list. Honestly, Davis could’ve been considered a first-teamer for the job he has done, but there’s no doubting that he should be on the second-team. CB Derion Kendrick, who was a wide receiver last season, has been excellent in his transition over to the defensive backfield and that’s apparent in this honor.

All-ACC Third-Team Selections:

  • OT Jackson Carman
  • DE Xavier Thomas
  • DT Nyles Pinckney
  • S K’Von Wallace

dark. Next. Is Deshaun Watson the next Tom Brady?

One Tiger that I’m surprised was left off is LB Jamie Skalski. Skalski has been an instrumental part of that Clemson football defense in 2019 and it’s clear that the voters haven’t kept up with what he has been doing at that linebacker position.
