5-star Clemson football target Jordan Burch has announced when he’ll be committing. Here’s a look at the latest on the talented defensive end.

5-star Clemson football target Jordan Burch announced on Twitter that he’d be committing on Thursday, Dec. 19, one day after the early signing period begins for the 2020 cycle.

Burch, a talented defensive end prospect, has a top-five of Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.

He’ll play his final high school game Saturday in the SCISA 3A state championship as Hammond takes on Laurence-Manning before competing in the Under Armour all-star game in January. Through the summer and fall, he has taken visits to each of the five schools, but only took two of his allotted five official visits.

Burch visited LSU (Oct. 26) and Alabama (Nov. 8), but has yet to make anything other than unofficial visits to Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina- the three schools that were considered the favorites heading into the fall.

Burch last visited Clemson back in the summer during the Tigers’ All-In Cookout. Clemson football commit Bryan Bresee has been heavily involved in recruiting Burch to join the Tigers’ star-studded class that already features Bresee (5-star DL), Demonte Capehart (5-star DT), Myles Murphy (5-star DE) and Fred Davis II (5-star DB), just to name a few on the defensive side of the ball.

Clemson football garners 62 percent of the Crystal Ball predictions from 247 Sports, but it’s tough to really tell when it comes to Burch.

Burch has kept his recruitment close to the vest and hasn’t let on any signs of favoring one school over another. He visited South Carolina several times in a row back in the spring and has seemingly had an enjoyable time at both Alabama and LSU, but no one truly knows for sure.

The one concern for Clemson would be that he never took an official visit to Tiger Town during a game weekend. He could still schedule an official between now and his commitment date, but the vast majority of prospects are going to take an official to the school of their choosing.

On the other hand, Burch has visited Clemson several times and knows what the Tigers have to offer. It’s too early to tell when it comes to projecting where the 5-star DE will end up as any of those five schools on his list could be considered the leader for different reasons.
