The Clemson football team saw several offensive stars make their way to the injury tent during the 52-3 victory over Wake Forest Saturday afternoon.

The Clemson football team improved to 11-0 on the season with a dominant 52-3 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers controlled the matchup from start-to-finish and, with the win, upped their impressive program winning streak to 26 games.

Though the game itself was complete dominance, most Clemson football fans were more interested in the status of a couple of Tigers who suffered injuries during the matchup and never returned to action.

Three offensive stars for Clemson football- QB Trevor Lawrence, and WRs Amari Rodgers and Justyn Ross– suffered injuries and were checked out in the injury tent.

Rodgers was the first to head to the tent following a 52-yard punt return early in the first quarter in which he suffered a shoulder injury. He returned, but was forced to make a trip back to the tent and was shut down for the day with the same injury.

QB Trevor Lawrence made his way to the tent after leading the Tigers to their first touchdown of the game. Lawrence rushed the ball and looked as if he was going to slide, but didn’t. The result was an awkward combination of him getting hit in the head and rolling his knee. He had a wrap on his knee and was gingerly walking on it over the course of the game, but did return and had quite the outing.

WR Justyn Ross was the third to make it to the injury tent after he made a catch and awkwardly fell on top of the ball right before halftime. Ross suffered an injury to his rib and- the same as Rodgers- didn’t return.

The two wide receivers were seen on the sidelines in street clothes in the second half and Clemson coach Dabo Swinney had an update on their injuries following the win over Wake Forest.

Swinney told the media that the guys were banged up, but both would be available if the team was playing a game next week. Ross suffered bruised ribs and Rodgers had a sore shoulder. The two were held out for precautionary reasons and it seems that they’ll be fine moving forward.

Luckily for Clemson football, the Tigers have a bye week this coming Saturday before they take on in-state rival South Carolina two weeks from now.

The bye week comes at a good time. They’ll be able to get guys healed who are banged up and allow those players to get back to 100 percent for the rivalry game against South Carolina and the ACC Championship in Charlotte the following week.

We’ll continue to update you if we hear any other injury news, but the consensus from what the coaches had to say after the game is that the Tigers are in good position moving forward and the second bye week of the season probably couldn’t have come at a better time.
