The Clemson football team will travel over to Raleigh, NC to take on the NC State Wolfpack Saturday night.
Though the Textile Bowl has had some close games in the past, this one is not set up to be that way. The Tigers come into the matchup as 32.5-point favorites, courtesy of the Action Network, and are looking to improve to 10-0 on the season with a win.
The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. live on ABC with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor on the call.
Here’s a look at our Rubbing the Rock staff predictions for the matchup.
Shawn Spencer
Score: Clemson 56, NC State 7
Reason: NC State has had quarterback trouble all season and the Wolfpack have some key injuries in the defensive backfield. The result should be a nice day passing from Trevor Lawrence and fairly low-stress outing for the Tigers as they improve to 10-0 and continue their impressive streak of blowouts since October.
Cole Little
Score: Clemson 45, NC State 14
Reason: The Textile Bowl has featured some exciting matchups in recent years, but the NC State Wolfpack’s subpar defense will be no match for the Tigers’ red-hot offense on Saturday. Expect the Tigers’ roar to drown out the Wolfpack’s howl at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Barry Shuck
Score: Clemson 47, NC State 13
Reason: NC State is a horrible football team.
Tyreese Ingram
Score: Clemson 65, NC State 10
Reason: State just hasn’t shown much competitively this season, add a depleted secondary to the equation and an angry visitor – The Pack is in for a long night!!
Nick Young
Score: Clemson 42, NC State 10
Reason: After completing decimating Wofford and going on to be 9-0, the Tigers will continue to make their claim once again as ACC champions by beating NC State
