College Football 2019: Picks Against the Spread for Week 9
Week 9 of the College Football season is here and there are some interesting games on the docket. Here’s a look at our spread predictions.
It’s the end of October and that means that College Football is really ramping into full swing.
In the last two weeks, we experienced upsets as top-10 teams Georgia (vs. South Carolina) and Wisconsin (vs. Illinois) lost games to unranked opponents.
As we progress to through the rest of the College Football season, it certainly should be expected that we see more upsets as teams begin to feel pressure mounting.
Here are our picks against the spread for some of the most prominent games in Week 9 of the College Football. All of the spreads are courtesy of the Action Network.
I’ve got one piece of advice for you this weekend: Take the underdog.
Wisconsin at Ohio State
Current Spread: Ohio State -14.5
Spread Prediction:
Wisconsin just lost an ugly game to Illinois. The Badgers are clearly not deserving of a top-20 ranking and they’re on the road. Even so, take Wisconsin +14.5. The Badgers will be looking for revenge. Will they win the game outright? Most likely not, but this will be Ohio State’s first real test of the season, just because Wisconsin actually has a any type of a pulse, unlike any other team the Buckeyes have played.
Auburn at LSU
Current Spread: LSU -11
Spread Prediction:
LSU is an 11-point favorite at home against Auburn. Led by Joe Burrow, the Tigers have one of the most explosive offenses in the country, but it will be their defense that is highlighted Saturday.
LSU is at home, so I don’t expect an outright upset, but this game certainly finishes within 10 points. Take Auburn +11.
Notre Dame at Michigan
Current Spread: Michigan -2.5
Spread Prediction:
Notre Dame and Michigan matchup on the gridiron for a game that will be determine which team is more overrated. Neither of these teams deserve to be in the top-10, but Notre Dame is going to win the game. Why? Because they actually can score at times. Michigan, on the other hand, not so much.
Washington State at Oregon
Current Spread: Oregon -13.5
Spread Prediction:
Oregon and Utah are waving the flag for the Pac-12 in the conference’s pursuit of somehow getting a bid into the College Football Playoff.
The Ducks have an explosive offense, but they will struggle to put away a solid Washington State team. I think Oregon probably wins the game, but it will closer than two touchdowns.
We could see some major upsets this weekend. Some of these favorites are going to go down. This week we are taking nothing but underdogs.
- Wisconsin +14.5 vs. Ohio State
- Auburn +11 vs. LSU
- Notre Dame +2.5 vs. Michigan
- Washington State +14.5 vs. Oregon
