The 2019 College Football season is already in its second month. Here are our picks against the spread for several prominent games on the first Saturday in October.
This is the first College Football week of the season without any Clemson football.
The Tigers, currently on their first bye week of the season, won’t play until next Saturday when they take on the Florida State Seminoles in Death Valley.
With that being said, there’s still some interesting College Football that Tiger fans can enjoy throughout the weekend. Here’s a look at our picks against the spread for some of the prominent College Football games around the nation.
Auburn at Florida
Current Spread: Florida -2.5
Spread Prediction:
This is the game of the week and it’s going to be a dud. No. 10 Florida may have the homefield advantage, but the truth is that the Gators aren’t very good. The spread is currently at 2.5 in favor of the Gators, but many lines are already starting to turn in favor of the Tigers. Still, we’ll take Auburn to win the game outright.
Air Force at Navy
Current Spread: Navy +3.5
Spread Prediction:
Is this the year for Air Force? We think so. Air Force gets the job done and wins by a touchdown to beat Navy at home and cover the spread.
Pittsburgh at Duke
Current Spread: Duke -5
Spread Prediction:
Duke is a 5-point favorite coming into this one and it’s tough to really know what to expect between these two ACC Coastal teams. Pittsburgh competed and had an opportunity to beat Penn State in Happy Valley. The Panthers have looked solid to this point and Duke is undefeated.
We’re going to take the Blue Devils to cover, but wouldn’t be surprised at all if this one goes the other way.
Texas at West Virginia
Current Spread: West Virginia +10.5
Spread Prediction:
West Virginia can get up for big games at home and that’s exactly what they’re going to do Saturday. Will the Mountaineers win the game or pull off the upset? Probably not, but they’ll at least give the Longhorns a scare.
West Virginia covers that double-digit spread, but likely falls short of an upset.
So, to review, we’re taking:
- Auburn +2.5 vs. Florida
- Air Force -3.5 vs. Navy
- Duke -5 vs. Pittsburgh
- West Virginia +10.5 vs. Texas
