Tremayne Anchrum has quietly become a major leader and consistent producer at right tackle for the Clemson football offense.

A couple of years ago, Tremayne Anchrum was a bit shaky at that right tackle position for Clemson football.

That’s simply not the case anymore.

Anchrum, a senior right tackle, really improved over the course of the 2018 season and even had the consideration of turning pro after the end of the year. He wisely chose to come back to school for one more season and is now one of the leaders on an offensive line that is considered to be elite. In terms of the rest of the nation, there may not be a team with a better offensive line than the Tigers.

In addition to Anchrum, the Tigers have veterans John Simpson (OG), Gage Cervenka (OG) and Sean Pollard (C), as well as talented sophomore Jackson Carman.

Through the first couple of games of the season, that unit has been more than solid. The group took a little while to settle into the game against Texas A&M, but when they did, they absolutely dominated the Aggies up front.

Clemson took control of the lines of scrimmage and was clearly the more physical team. This unit isn’t just taking care of their men or giving Trevor Lawrence time to pass, they’re making highlight-reel lead blocks that are opening up huge holes for the offense.

Tremayne Anchrum has had as big of a part as any in getting that going.

Anchrum isn’t just a solid option at right tackle, though. He uses his veteran leadership to keep the group focused on the task at hand. From his talent and intangibles, Anchrum has quietly developed into one of the top offensive tackles in the country.

His footwork, athleticism and overall strength have all improved over the course of the season and now Anchrum has an opportunity to propel his draft stock and potentially be one of the top offensive tackles taken in the 2020 NFL Draft just a few months from now.
