The Clemson football team will take on the Syracuse Orange tonight. Here are five battles to watch and areas the Tigers can exploit in the game.

The 2019 Clemson football season is up and running at full speed now.

The Tigers kicked off this season with a 52-14 win over Georgia Tech and then followed that up with a 24-10 win over Texas A&M the following week. During those two weeks, Clemson’s defense proved to be impressive and showed promise and improvement.

Now, Clemson football will play a road game for the first time this season. The Tigers are scheduled to play the Syracuse Orange tonight at 7:30 p.m. live on ABC. Sean McDonough (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (color) and Maria Taylor (sideline) will be on the call.

Interestingly enough, this game was penciled in as the potential site for ESPN College GameDay, but was put on the backburner after Syracuse lost in embarrassing fashion to Maryland by a score of 63-20.

Because of that blowout defeat, the Orange come into this as 28 point underdogs. Despite the underdog status, Syracuse fans are confident that the team can fix some of those mistakes and that they’ll give their best effort against Clemson.

Here are five battles to watch and areas the Tigers can exploit against Syracuse Saturday evening in front of a sold-out crowd in the Carrier Dome.
