How will some of the most prominent games in College Football shape out in Week 2? Here’s our picks against the spread for the second week of the season.

The 2019 College Football season is in full swing now. Last week, we saw Auburn edge out Oregon, Georgia State beat Tennessee, Boise State come up with a win against Florida State and North Carolina defeat South Carolina in Charlotte.

The Clemson football team will host No. 11 ranked Texas A&M this Saturday in Death Valley, but we will release a spread prediction for that game separately.

In the first week of the College Football season, we came away with a record of 3-2 against the spread: predicting Alabama to cover the spread; North Carolina with the points; and Virginia to cover the 2.5-point spread.

We were wrong about predicting Oregon as a 3.5-point underdog and Oklahoma as a 23-point favorite against Houston.

Here’s our picks against the spread for College Football Week 2.

Army at Michigan

Current Spread: Michigan -22.5

Spread Prediction:

Army is better than many think and Michigan is worse than their ranking. The Wolverines win the game, but they won’t cover the 22.5 point spread.

Syracuse at Maryland

Current Spread: Maryland -2

Spread Prediction:

Maryland may be on the rise, but Syracuse is the better team. The Orange shouldn’t be an underdog in this one. Though it could be expected that they’re overlooking Maryland for Clemson next week, I’ll still take Syracuse to win the game outright.

Miami at North Carolina

Current Spread: North Carolina +3.5

Spread Prediction:

Who knows what to expect in this one? North Carolina beat South Carolina, but the Gamecocks didn’t look good. Miami gave away one to Florida a couple of weeks ago. I think the bye week helps the Hurricanes and Miami comes away with a win and covers the small spread.

LSU at Texas

Current Spread: Texas +6.5

Spread Prediction:

Texas doesn’t just cover the spread, but they win the game outright. Joe Burrows looked good in Week 1 for LSU, but I don’t think that’ll be enough. Texas will score some points and LSU will struggle, ultimately falling on the road.

So, to review. We’re taking:

  • Army +22.5 vs. Michigan
  • Syracuse +2 vs. Maryland
  • Miami -3.5 vs. North Carolina
  • Texas +6.5 vs. LSU
