The 2019 Clemson football team will return to Death Valley in less than a week.
After an offseason full of anticipation, the Tigers are officially going through preparation for their season-opening match up with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Clemson will take on Georgia Tech at 8 p.m. Thursday night in front of a national audience on the newly-launched ACC Network.
Not only will Clemson football be featured to begin the season, but it’s clear that the national media believes the Tigers will be back in the CFB Playoff mix by the end of the season.
Clemson is ranked No. 1 in both the preseason AP and Coaches’ Poll and the Tigers are one of the Vegas odds favorites to get back to the CFB Playoff and potentially win another National Championship.
As we look at this Clemson football team, everyone knows the big names- Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Justyn Ross, Tee Higgins, Isaiah Simmons, AJ Terrell, even Xavier Thomas- but there are several other Tigers who will have an opportunity to burst onto the scene and become impact players.
All five of these breakout candidates are guys that aren’t appearing on anyone’s preseason watch lists. They aren’t on the All-ACC team and they aren’t expected to be All-Americans according to the national media, but they certainly will make an impact for Clemson football this season.
