4-star Clemson football target EJ Williams will make his decision in just a matter of days. Where do the Tigers stand with the talented wide receiver prospect?

4-star Clemson football target EJ Williams is inching near a decision.

The 4-star WR product from Central, Alabama will announce his commitment at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24. He has been actively visiting and pursuing schools for the past few months and he has now shut down his recruitment, for the most part, and will make his decision in just a matter of days.

Williams has a top-four group that includes Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and LSU.

Where do the Tigers stand?

As of right now, Clemson football is considered one of the two leaders to land Williams’ services.  The Tigers and Alabama have seemingly been the two favorites for quite some time. Williams has visited Clemson more than any other school, but did tell AL.com that Alabama was his favorite a couple of months ago.

Just recently, the 4-star WR told The State that he would be considering a variety of factors, but the two most important were the ability to get on the field early and having a trusting relationship with the coaches. Williams has been heavily recruited by Clemson football co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott.

If those are his two factors, Williams is likely a Clemson lean. The Tigers have proven time and time again that they will play a ton of wide receivers. Williams would have just as much an opportunity as any other wide receiver to get on the field early.

In addition to having a chance to play early, there isn’t a better Wide Receivers coach in the nation than Jeff Scott. Scott has done a tremendous job recruiting and developing talent at that position over the past few years.

Next. WR Joseph Ngata already filling potential. dark

Currently, signs point to Williams committing to Clemson, but it still wouldn’t be a surprise if he chose to stay in-state and attend Alabama.
