Though many Clemson football fans place their eyes on the star-studded talent at defensive end, they shouldn’t forget about Logan Rudolph.

When you have talented star-studded 5-stars like Xavier Thomas and KJ Henry in the Clemson football program, you tend to forget about other guys.

Even a guy like Justin Foster, who was a 4-star, and Justin Mascoll, a 4-star, garner attention because of their star-ratings. But, one Clemson football player that is being overlooked by the majority of the fan base is Logan Rudolph.

Rudolph, who came into the Clemson football program as a 3-star, has actually been running out with the first-team through the first few sessions of practice.

During that time, he has performed really well and been a bright spot along that defensive line.

Though many may forget about Rudolph, the truth is that he’s no slouch when it comes to playing defensive end.

Rudolph doesn’t have the quick explosiveness that a Xavier Thomas might possess, but he has improved his technique over the past couple of seasons and has really become more comfortable playing out of the defensive end spot instead of at linebacker, where he played in high school.

Rudolph shows the ability to set a hard-edge, but also has the athleticism and foot work to rush the passer at a high level. The things that stand out most when watching him is his motor, which never stops, and his aggressiveness. He’s not afraid of contact and does a solid job playing through the blocker.

Rudolph is projected to be the second-string defensive end behind Xavier Thomas this season for Clemson football, but it’s clear that he’s competing for the starting position. Even if he does end up second, we will still see a ton of the redshirt sophomore this season.
