5-star Clemson football LB target Justin Flowe announced his group of top schools Friday afternoon and there was a bit of a surprise.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to the 247 Sports’ Composite Team Rankings.

The Tigers already have commitments from six composite 5-stars, including DL Bryan Bresee, QB DJ Uiagalelei, DE Myles Murphy, DB Fred Davis, RB Demarkcus Bowman and DT Demonte Capehart.

One of the biggest remaining targets for the Clemson football program in the 2020 cycle is 5-star LB Justin Flowe.

Flowe, the No. 1 rated linebacker in the nation and the No. 3 player overall, announced his top-four on Instagram Friday afternoon in what was a bit of a surprising reveal.

Flowe announced that Georgia, Clemson, Oregon and Miami are now his top-four schools. The talented linebacker prospect was considered a heavy USC lean for the vast majority of his recruitment to this point. In addition to the Trojans missing the list, it was expected that Alabama- not Miami- would be the fourth team on his list by many recruiting experts.

After all, he did have an official visit to Alabama scheduled for September.

That being said, Flowe took a visit to Clemson this past weekend for the Tigers’ annual All-In Cookout and reportedly had an enjoyable time. The 5-star prospect has been recruited hard not just by the Clemson football coaching staff, but by the commitments in the 2020 class.

In particular, Bryan Bresee and DJ Uiagalelei have headed up attempting to attract him over to Clemson.

Right now, it would seem that Clemson is the favorite, but by a slight margin. Flowe is still expected to take the majority of his official visits this coming fall before making a final decision. The Tigers will battle heavily with Georgia, as well as Oregon, for his services.

Flowe would be a huge pickup for Clemson and it will be interesting to see what the 5-star prospects ends up deciding here in the span of just a few months.
