The Clemson football fan base was ranked as the No. 3 worst Twitter fan base in all of College Football, according to CFB Central.
CFB Central released its worst Twitter fan bases in CFB rankings this week and had Clemson football No. 3 overall.
Tiger fans, who are celebrating their team coming off a second National Championship in the past three seasons, are beginning to trend up the list of ‘most hated’ among the rest of the nation.
Here’s a look at CFB Central’s top-10 ‘worst’ Twitter fan bases.
- UCF
- Michigan
- Clemson
- Penn State
- Ohio State
- Georgia
- Alabama
- Florida
- Tennessee
- Notre Dame
UCF at the top makes a little bit of sense, for sure. Knights fans have been absolutely adamant that they won a National Championship two seasons ago, which is probably more of a headache for Alabama fans than anyone else.
Speaking of Alabama, it’s a bit surprising that Tide fans aren’t higher up on the list. Many Crimson Tide fans, especially on Twitter, have continued to make excuses for their team’s loss to Clemson football and none of them can resist just writing ‘ROLL TIDE ROLL’ over and over again instead of attempting to have a conversation.
Michigan fans come in at No. 2 because of their obvious need to live in the past. Though the Wolverines haven’t been nationally relevant in many years, they continue to believe that they’re the best program in American. Even though they can’t win their own division consistently.
In the end, Clemson football fans are going to continue to climb up these kinds of lists. No one wants to see the Tigers continue to succeed the way that they have over the past half-decade, but that’s not going to stop Dabo Swinney from continuing to win.
A few Twitter fan bases that were left off that should’ve been included: South Carolina, Texas, Southern Cal and Florida State.
