Wide Receiver (No. 2)

Starter: Sammy Watkins

  • Jacoby Ford
  • Martavis Bryant

The second wide receiver spot features Sammy Watkins as the starter with Jacoby Ford and Martavis Bryant as the listed backups.

All three of these guys were different players, but were explosive in what they did well.

Watkins was a wide receiver who was a threat to be in the end zone at any time. He could catch bubble screens and go the distance or leave the defensive back in the dust and catch a bomb. Jacoby Ford was similar in playing style to Watkins and was one of the speediest players to ever come through Clemson.

Martavis Bryant was a guy that specialized in the fade-route and high-pointing the football. He was a deep threat and could also beat defensive backs in one-on-one situations with his height, strength and athleticism.
