The potential first-team All-American contenders on the Clemson football team in 2019 is absolutely insane. Here’s a look at them.

There are several Clemson football players that could compete for a spot on the first-team All-American team before it’s all said and done.

The Tigers have plenty of skilled and experienced talent returning on offense mixed in with a few promising prospects on the defensive side of the ball.

Here’s a look at the Clemson football players that have an opportunity to earn a spot as a first-team All-American by the end of the 2019 season, beginning with the offense.

Offense:

  • Trevor Lawrence, QB
  • Travis Etienne, RB
  • Justyn Ross, WR
  • Tee Higgins, WR
  • John Simpson, OG
  • Gage Cervenka, OG
  • Tremayne Anchrum, OT

You could make an argument for any of Clemson’s offensive linemen, depending on how you look at the line. At this point, though, there are legitimate debates to be had that Simpson and Cervenka could be two of the best offensive guards in the nation.

Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne are the best at their position and will prove that as the season progresses. Both Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins will have opportunities to prove just how good they are, as well.

Defense:

  • Xavier Thomas, DE
  • Isaiah Simmons, LB
  • AJ Terrell, CB

Xavier Thomas is one of those ‘unknowns’ who will end up making a huge splash. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Thomas become one of the nation’s sack leaders this season.

Isaiah Simmons is a freakish athlete who will make an impact on the defense in both the run and pass and AJ Terrell has the opportunity to develop into one of the best cornerbacks in the nation.

It will be interesting to watch and see how the 2019 Clemson football season progresses. The Tigers certainly have talent and ability to flood the All-American teams before it’s all said and done.
