The 2019 Clemson football summer depth chart was released Monday afternoon. Here are five takeaways from the newly unveiled chart.

Just a couple of days before the beginning of ACC Kickoff media days, the Clemson football program released its media guide.

In that media guide was interesting information, storylines to watch, stat records and much more pertaining to the upcoming Clemson football season.

As part of the guide, the Tigers included a two-deep depth chart following the competition that took place in the spring.

Before we dive into this, it should be pointed out that depth charts don’t tell the entire story. Sometimes coaches want to challenge a specific player, so they put them lower on the depth chart than what they actually are in the minds of the staff. In other cases, a coaching staff may vault a guy up a depth chart to give him confidence heading into fall camp.

Though we can’t put much stock into the summer depth chart- as things will most definitely change as the season progresses- it can be a good base point to get into the minds of the coaches.

It can tell us what they’re thinking about some of the younger players, as well as veterans and who we should be keeping our eyes on as fall camp approaches. It can also give us a little Intel as to who is winning certain position battles and competitions heading into the summer.

Here are five takeaways from the Tigers’ 2019 post-spring depth chart.
