Could Clemson football target an Alabama de-commitment at wide receiver for the 2020 class? It’s certainly an option down the stretch.

4-star WR Dazalin Worsham announced that he was de-committing from Alabama earlier this week.

Worsham, a native of Trussville, AL, had been committed to the Crimson Tide since April of 2018 but recently decided he wanted to reopen his recruitment.

Could Clemson football choose to target the talented wide receiver for the 2020 recruiting cycle down the stretch?

Analysis:

The Tigers are looking to take two wide receivers in the 2020 class and have no commitments. They are currently targeting three at the position heavily in 4-star WR Xzavier Henderson, 4-star WR EJ Williams and 3-star WR Ajou Ajou.

Right now, Henderson is beginning to trend towards Clemson and Williams is seemingly split between Alabama and the Tigers. Williams did tell Bama Insider a month ago that he was favoring the Crimson Tide.

Ajou is still early in his recruitment and may very well be waiting to see if there is a spot available for him at Clemson.

Worsham is considered the No. 48 wide receiver in the country and the No. 11 overall player from the state of Alabama. He projects at the slot and could prove to be a valuable commodity at the position with good route-running ability and elite hands. He has great quickness and does a good job in getting separation between himself and the defender.

Worsham showed interest early on in Miami and the Hurricanes will likely be the program to beat for his services. The Tigers did offer Worsham back in January of 2018 and he took an unofficial visit in April before committing to the Crimson Tide.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see him show some interest in the Tigers, but he’ll likely have to wait on what the other three targets ultimately decide. It will be interesting to see if any momentum starts to pick up between the two parties, but for now we’d expect him to go elsewhere.
