Clemson football QB Trevor Lawrence was one of four players to make the cover of Phil Steele’s national magazine, previewing the upcoming season.

Trevor Lawrence is one of the few players in the country that has a legitimate shot at winning the Heisman Trophy in 2019.

As the centerpiece of the front cover for Phil Steele’s national preview magazine, Lawrence joined Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama QB), Shea Patterson (Michigan QB) and D’Andre Swift (UGA RB) to represent the 2019 edition.

Each season, Steele gives an in-depth preview of each CFB team, as well as his predictions, preseason All-Americans and much more in the magazine. It is now on sell online and in stores around the country.

Thoughts:

Seeing Trevor Lawrence on the cover is special. There aren’t many sophomores in the history of College Football, much less Clemson football, who have landed on the cover of Phil Steele’s magazine.

Lawrence took the nation by storm last season by leading Clemson football to a National Championship and a perfect 15-0 season. Despite not beginning the season as a starter and splitting reps with Kelly Bryant, Lawrence still put up impressive numbers and proved to the nation that he was going to be a special player to keep their eyes on over the next couple of seasons.

Lawrence is now one of the few players in the country that has a legitimate shot at winning the Heisman Trophy and is in great position to lead the Tigers back to the CFB Playoff where they can compete for another National Championship.

During his freshman campaign, Trevor Lawrence passed for 3,280 yards and threw 30 touchdowns to just four interceptions. He completed 65.2 percent of his passes and had 8.3 yards per attempt. Currently, Lawrence is considered to have the second best chance at winning the Heisman, just behind Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa.

Next. The only 5 Tigers to be unanimous All-Americans. dark

When the two teams matched up last season, Tagovailoa completed 22-of-34 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns, as well as two interceptions. He had an overall QB rating of 21.1.

Lawrence earned Offensive MVP honors and completed 20-of-32 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns to no interceptions. He had an overall QB rating of 91.5.
