The 2020 Clemson football recruiting cycle is slowly coming to a close. Here’s what’s left for the Tigers as we head into thick of summer.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class already has 18 commitments here in the month of June.

The class is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, and boast an average star-rating of 94.56.

Headliners in the commitments include 5-stars DL Bryan Bresee, DE Myles Murphy, QB DJ Uiagalelei, RB Demarkcus Bowman, DT Demonte Capehart, DB Fred Davis and several others.

With 18 commitments already in this class, though, the Tigers will only take a handful more in terms of scholarships in this 2020 cycle. The number is likely to be somewhere between 20-24, with 22 being that happy medium.

Who is left in terms of targets? Well, the list is very short.

2020 Remaining Targets:

  • 4-star WR EJ Williams
  • 4-star WR Xzavier Henderson
  • 3-star WR Ajou Ajou
  • 4-star RB/ATH Daniyel Ngata
  • 5-star DE Jordan Burch
  • 5-star TE Arik Gilbert
  • 5-star LB Justin Flowe

This is a decent list. There may be a prospect or two added- especially at linebacker- but this is pretty much the majority of prospects that the Tigers are waiting on.

It’s not expected that Flowe or Gilbert commit to Clemson. It seems that the relationship has sort of cooled off with both of those prospects.

The Tigers will take two wide receivers in the class, which means they’ll try to get two of those three- Williams, Henderson and Ajou.

Clemson will wait on 5-star DE Jordan Burch to make a decision. It seems that he is a South Carolina lean right now, but you never know and he likely won’t be making a decision until later this fall.

Daniyel Ngata is one that is certainly interested in Clemson, but the Tigers may not have room for him. Clemson could sign him as an overflow candidate should they like him as an athlete or want him over, perhaps, one of those wide receiver targets.

Next. ACC Network will provide revenue boost. dark

Overall, though, it should be expected that the Tigers get commitments from two wide receivers and then to potentially use the other two spots for any position or player Dabo Swinney sees as the best fit for the program.
