Former Clemson football WR Hunter Renfrow doesn’t believe his Madden rating is completely accurate, but it wouldn’t be for the reason you suspect.

Former Clemson football wide receiver Hunter Renfrow did an interview with ESPN’s Matthew Berry as part of the National Football League Players Association rookie event.

Renfrow’s Madden Rating was revealed for the first time and he was visibly upset, according to Berry, but not for the reason that you would expect.

"“It’s my speed rating, man,” he tells me, and I nod understandingly. I had spoken to a few Madden producers earlier and they had mentioned that Renfrow, like many athletes before him, was unhappy with a rating of his, so I asked him about it. “What’s the issue?”“It’s too high!” I turn and say, “Yeah, I know it’s just … wait, what?”  “Man, they got me at 85. I’m not that fast. I want it lower, like an 82. Come on. Give me something to work up to!, Renfrow exclaimed”"

Renfrow wants his speed lowered. He believes that he isn’t fast enough to be considered an 85 in the speed category, instead it should lowered to around 82, according to Renfrow.

Renfrow’s just different…

Berry went on to say in his article that he has been doing this for quite some time and has grown accustomed to hearing players complain about their Madden ratings.

However, he said that he’s never heard a player say that it should be lowered- joking or not.

That just goes to show you how humble and absolutely down to earth Hunter Renfrow truly is. Renfrow isn’t concerned about his Madden rating. He isn’t concerned about what people think about him, but instead he is concerned about becoming a better football player and, more importantly, a better person.

It would be easy for a guy like Renfrow- who has caught a game-winning touchdown pass in a National Championship game and has won two National Championships- to think too highly of himself.

But, instead, Renfrow continues to show humility and remains meek in a league full of arrogance. Renfrow is going to be a great addition to that Oakland Raiders locker room.

5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman is All-In. dark. Next

Not only will he develop into a solid slot receiver, he will be a leader by example and a breath of fresh air for that organization.

Renfrow is a winner and it’s always a great thing to see him continuing to be himself, even with the spotlight growing brighter.
