Who are the 2019 Clemson football freshman that will join the team this summer? Here’s a look at the names set to enroll in just a few short months.

The 2019 Clemson football freshman class had a total of 29 prospects sign for the recruiting cycle, when it was all said and done.

The class was the largest since 2011 when the Tigers took 28 overall recruits.

With the big class comes a lot of new faces. Clemson football fans were introduced to 17 of the freshmen as mid-year enrollees this spring. Several of the young prospects- including Tyler Davis, Sheridan Jones, Frank Ladson and Joe Ngata- stepped on campus and were top performers in spring camp.

As the Tigers head into the summer, the remainder of the freshmen will enroll and join the team. They will begin going through summer workouts here in less than a couple of months. Here’s a look at the players that will join the team this summer and compete in fall camp later this August.

2019 Summer Enrollees:

  • Andrew Booth, 5-star CB
  • Bryton Constantin, 4-star LB*
  • Chez Mellusi, 4-star RB
  • Vonta Bentley, 4-star LB
  • Kane Patterson, 4-star LB
  • Keith Maguire, 3-star LB
  • Tayquon Johnson, 3-star DT
  • Jalyn Phillips, 3-star S
  • Greg Williams, 3-star LB
  • Davis Allen, 3-star TE
  • Michel Dukes, 3-star RB
  • Mason Trotter, 2-star OL

Quick Thoughts:

There’s still a lot of talent yet to join the team for the 2019 season.

Bryton Constantin will redshirt this season due to an ACL tear. He has had surgery and is beginning rehab, but most likely won’t be available this season.

Vonta Bentley and Kane Patterson will have an opportunity to compete and perhaps work their ways into the two-deep at linebacker.

Andrew Booth has the talent and potential to come in and start right away. He’s going to be competing with Derion Kendrick and AJ Terrell for that starting position opposite-side of AJ Terrell.

Next. Though it's tempting, don't write-off Alabama. dark

Finally, both Chez Mellusi and Michel Dukes will have a chance to compete and earn playing time at running back with the announced transfer of Tavien Feaster.
