Former Clemson football defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is ready to impress his new franchise, the Miami Dolphins. He’s doing a good job already.

Former Clemson football defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is embracing Miami.

Wilkins, who was drafted with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, will participate in a three-day Rookie Mini-Camp this coming weekend in his first official workout as a Dolphin.

Though Dolphins fans are currently enamored with the franchise’s pick up of quarterback Josh Rosen, Wilkins will prove to be the newcomer with the most staying power.

When you look at Christian Wilkins and what he did during his Clemson football career, it’s absolutely impressive.

Wilkins wasn’t just one of the best defensive tackles to ever don the orange and white, he was a historically great leader and terrific ambassador for the entire Tiger program.

He didn’t have to return to school for one more season. Wilkins would’ve been drafted highly in last year’s NFL Draft and he already had his Bachelor’s degree. Instead, Wilkins loved Clemson football so much that he chose to return and earn a Master’s degree while playing one more season for the Tigers.

His loyalty, character and leadership will prove to be defining traits during his NFL career.

The people of Miami are going to fall in love with Wilkins’ outspoken and laid back personality. He will make a great impact on the locker room and it won’t be too long before he’s a leader on that defensive line.

Wilkins is projected to be a starter at defensive tackle, alongside Davon Godchaux, this coming season. He will have to step in and prove his ability early on, but I don’t see any reason that Wilkins won’t play a ton of snaps as a rookie.

dark. Next. Which rookie will make biggest NFL impact?

He’s going to be impressive to watch and should make for a successful defensive tackle before it’s all said and done down in Miami.
