Clemson Football: Which Tiger rookie could make biggest NFL impact?

Several Clemson football players will continue their respective careers with different NFL teams. Which rookie has the greatest chance of making an impact?

Several former Clemson football players heard their names called during the 2019 NFL Draft a week ago.

Since then, there have been quite a few more agree to undrafted free agent deals that will allow them to continue their respective football careers.

These former Tigers are in the process of moving to their new town and will begin preparing NFL Training Camp and Rookie Mini-Camp.

As they prepare for the upcoming 2019 season, it brings up a good question: Which Clemson football rookie will have the greatest impact in the NFL during their first season?

Analysis:

When I look at the Tigers on NFL rosters as rookies, there are three guys that come to mind that I believe could make major impacts in 2019: Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell and Hunter Renfrow.

You could see Trayvon Mullen, Dexter Lawrence and potentially Mitch Hyatt emerge as candidates for this discussion, as well.

For me, though, I think about Wilkins and Ferrell because of their ability to come in and start right away. Ferrell is going to be relied upon to be an elite edge-rusher for the Raiders right away. Christian Wilkins could fill into that Miami Dolphin defensive line immediately.

Hunter Renfrow is in a great situation. He’s going to get an opportunity to earn playing time in the slot with the Raiders. As I look at the Raiders’ roster, Renfrow is the best slot option for them. He’ll have Derek Carr throwing the ball to him, which isn’t the best QB option, but Renfrow has proven that he can help take away some of the flaws of a quarterback.

The guy that will make the biggest impact in 2019 as a rookie will likely come from that group of three former Tigers. You can take your pick on which will have the best campaign.
