Clemson Football: Deshaun Watson voted best CFB QB of all-time

A recent Twitter bracket was released with voters selecting the best QB of all-time in CFB. Clemson football QB Deshaun Watson won the bracket.

Total CFB released a bracket on Twitter allowing people to vote on the best quarterback to ever take a College Football field.

Among those in the field were names like Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, Andrew Luck, Roger Staubach, Colt McCoy, Dan Marino, Drew Brees, Michael Vick, Vince Young, John Elway, Steve Young, Cam Newton and many others.

The bracket was set up with 32 quarterbacks and Clemson football’s Deshaun Watson was listed as a No. 8 seed.

For those of you wondering, here’s a look at the top-10 seeds: 1. Tim Tebow, 2. Vince Young, 3. Tommie Frazier, 4. Marcus Mariota, 5. Matt Leinart, 6. Cam Newton, 7. Peyton Manning, 8. Deshaun Watson, 9. Roger Staubach and 10. Baker Mayfield.

In each matchup, fans were given the opportunity to vote for who was the better CFB quarterback. Watson was voted a better quarterback than Robert Griffin III in the first round receiving 70 percent of the vote. He then beat Sam Bradford with 64 percent of the vote in the second round and Kellen Moore in the third round with 66 percent of the vote.

In the semifinals, Watson beat Marcus Mariota with 69 percent of the vote and then won the championship against Baker Mayfield with 68 percent of the vote.

Though I don’t agree with the seeding of the bracket at all, I do think Deshaun Watson should be considered one of the greatest College Football quarterbacks of all-time. Watson led Clemson football to two National Title games and carried the Tigers in both matchups against dominant Alabama defenses.

Many hold not winning a Heisman against him, but you can’t fault Watson for bad voting. He clearly deserved not just to win the Heisman, but to be drafted higher in the NFL Draft. People have constantly doubted his ability and every step of the way, Deshaun Watson has stepped and proven the naysayers wrong.
