The Clemson football offense is absolutely loaded with talent across the board. One player often forgotten is wide receiver Amari Rodgers.

Amari Rodgers was a full-time starter last season for Clemson football.

Despite the fact that he started every game and made some huge plays, he was overshadowed by the consistency of Hunter Renfrow and the explosive, play-making ability of both Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins.

As we head into the 2019 Clemson football season, everyone seems to be talking about the explosiveness of Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins.

Of course, those guys deserved to be talked about. Ross and Higgins are easily the most dynamic duo of wide receivers in all of College Football and, in my opinion, they’re probably the two best wide receivers in the nation.

But, we shouldn’t forget about the potential of Amari Rodgers, either.

Opposing defenses are going to spend the majority of their game-planning looking for ways to eliminate Ross and Higgins’ ability to make big plays. That means there is going to be an opening for Rodgers to have a bunch of receptions and show the world what he is capable of doing.

Rodgers is penciled in to start at that slot position- formerly played by Hunter Renfrow- with Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross starting at the boundaries.

He is going to be relied upon to reel in catches on 3rd-and-medium range plays and will absolutely play a big role in the success of the offense.

Rodgers has had times where he hasn’t been able to reel in catches, including a couple of muffed punts, but we’ve all seen improvements over his career at Clemson.

dark. Next. 'Nuk' Hopkins gives shout out to Ross, Higgins

I think this year he is going to take the next step and prove to be one of the best wide receivers in the ACC. He’ll be sharing the ball with a lot of talented receivers, but I still fully expect Amari Rodgers to make a big impact for the Tigers in 2019.
