A couple of days ago, the updated odds for the 2019 National Championship were released and Clemson football was the favorite to bring home the trophy.

The 2019 Clemson football team is expected to be dominant, just as it has been for the past few years.

Though the Tigers will be expected to have success in a different way- with a more explosive offense and less-experienced defense- the end result is likely to be the same, according to Vegas: A National Championship.

The Tigers are currently favored at 2-to-1 odds to repeat as National Champions. Alabama with 5-to-2 odds.

After that, Georgia and Ohio State are tied for third at 8-1 odds; Michigan and Oklahoma at 14-1 odds; and Texas at 25-1 odds.

Here’s the question: Would you take Clemson and Alabama, or the field?

The answer, in my opinion, is quite obvious. I don’t see how anyone can bet against Alabama or Clemson football to win the National Championship.

The Tigers and the Tide are clear favorites for a reason and there’s a typical rule to follow in Vegas: Don’t bet against the winner until otherwise proven.

Basically, if no one has proven that they can consistently beat the favorite, then you shouldn’t bet against them until someone does it.

Though Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas have fine programs, they just aren’t on the level of Clemson or Alabama as of yet. Any of those program could potentially develop into an elite powerhouse with the Tigers and the Tide, but for right now, it’s Clemson, Alabama and then everyone else.

Taking the field may be what most College Football fans would want to do, as they are tired of seeing Clemson-Alabama matchups year after year, but I think the rational ones would decide to take the Tigers and Tide, not the field.
