Clemson football will have a visit from 5-star linebacker Justin Flowe this weekend. Could the Tigers make up some ground on the elite prospect?

5-star linebacker Justin Flowe told 247 Sports’ Greg Biggins that he’d be making several unofficial visits over the next few months.

Flowe, who is a 247 Sports’ Consensus top three player, is currently considering several schools, but Clemson is not among the leaders.

Clemson football offered him last June, but this presumably will be his first visit to Tiger Town.

He is making the visit with his elite 7-on-7 team as part of a trip that will include several top schools around the east coast, including Auburn and Georgia. The trip will also have stops at Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisville and Cincinnati.

He also told Biggins that he plans to visit Arizona State and LSU later this spring and wants to visit Texas and LSU.

Currently, he is a heavy USC lean and it seems that the Trojans will be the program to beat for his services.

The good news is that Clemson football sells itself. With Flowe getting on campus, that means the Tigers have a chance. He’s a very talented prospect and a linebacker that could come in and contribute right away, in my opinion.

He’s one of the top 2-3 linebackers in the country and has great athleticism and physicality.

For Clemson to swing Flowe away from USC, though, would be a major task.

A good sign would be if he decided to schedule another visit to get back on campus. Right now, the visit with his team seems more like a tour- or a chance to get out and see the country- rather than an actual interest in joining the Clemson football program and attending school at Clemson University.

He has expressed interest in Clemson before, though, describing the offer from the Tigers as a “dream offer,” so you never what may happen when he gets on campus.
