Clemson football has 11 players representing the program at the 2019 NFL Combine. Here’s a look at former Tiger defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.

Clemson football has a record 11 players representing the program at the 2019 NFL Combine, which is slated to begin Tuesday, February 26.

Over the course of this week- before the combine begins- we’ll be giving you a look at each Tiger that will participate in the event and what to look for.

We’ve started the series with Dexter Lawrence and Kendall Joseph. Today, let’s continue by taking a look at defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.

NFL Combine Profile:

Name: Christian Wilkins

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 315 pounds

Draft Grade: First-Rounder

How will he perform?

Christian Wilkins projects really well at the next level. He is the ideal defensive tackle prospect for teams and, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the combine helped him move a few spots forward in the NFL Draft.

Right now, Wilkins is a mid first-rounder taken somewhere between that No. 11 and No. 20 pick, by most mock drafts.

He is a talented run-stopper and does a great job of shooting gaps and rushing the passer from up the middle, as well. Wilkins has some diverse film, considering he started at defensive end for a year, as well for the Tigers.

He is the perfect blend of strength, power and athleticism, and that will be on full display during the NFL Combine. I mean, how many defensive tackles do you know of that can do a full split? *See 2016 National Championship celebration.*

In addition to his physical skill set, I think franchises will fall in love with his likeability and football IQ and, when it’s all said and done, he’ll be a first-rounder with the ability to come in and contribute right away. Wilkins is a great leader and the type of player you want in your organization, no doubt about it.
