2020 Clemson football target Jaylan Knighton, a 4-star running back, said that the Tigers currently are the leaders for his services.

4-star running back Jaylan Knighton is a big fan of Clemson football, at least for the moment.

Knighton, a product of Deerfield Beach, Florida, told his local newspaper that the Tigers were currently his leader as far as recruitment is concerned.

Outside of Clemson, Knighton is still currently considering Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Penn State and Oklahoma.

Knighton was once a Oklahoma commit, but he re-opened his recruitment a few months ago and has since trended towards Clemson, according to recruiting experts.

Analysis:

When I watch Knighton’s film, I see an explosive runner with the ability to turn on the jets and run hard in between the tackles.

He’s an extremely talented athlete and I really enjoy watching him run. He’s got great vision and does a solid job knowing when to use finesse moves to make guys miss and when to just take on the defender and run over him.

The key for Clemson football will be getting Knighton back on campus soon. If the Tigers can get him to come back up to South Carolina and visit again between now and the fall, that’d be huge. I’d be watching to see if Knighton can make it to the All-In Cookout later this summer.

Currently, the Tigers are in great position to win his services, but his recruitment is still a long way from being over.

Next. Where does the 2019 class rank in Clemson history?. dark

It will be interesting to see how the coaching staff close in on him and if they’re able to ultimately garner a commitment, potentially before the 2019 season begins.
