Clemson Football: Who can compete with the Tigers in 2019?
Who are the teams that could possibly ascend to Clemson football’s level or give the Tigers a run during the 2019 season?
Clemson football dominated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship game, winning by a score of 44-16.
The Tigers lose a lot on the defensive side of the ball, but return basically everyone on the offensive side of the ball and are primed to be really explosive offensively.
Right now, it would seem that Clemson football will be a favorite in every single game it will play in the regular season and, honestly, would be a favorite against most teams it would play in the CFB Playoff.
So, who are the teams that could potentially make a run at the Tigers in 2019?
Making a run…
As far as the regular season is concerned, there isn’t a team on the Tigers’ schedule that should beat them. Now, we all have to realize that College Football is a strange sport and things happen.
Perhaps Texas A&M early in the year could be a test? Maybe Syracuse on the road or Boston College late in the season? Some of those teams may have enough on a given day to pull off an upset, but none of them could consistently beat the Tigers.
When we look at the nation, I think the prominent programs that could make the CFB Playoff in 2019 include a list of names like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame and maybe a dark horse team that makes a run.
Either way, it’s clear to me that the Tigers have the potential to repeat as National Champions. Are there a few teams with talent enough to compete with Clemson football? Yes. Are they truly ready to beat and compete with a Tiger team as loaded as it is? I’m not sure.
It should be fun to watch and I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with a rematch of Clemson and Alabama again for a Part V match up.
