There will never be another duo of defensive tackles like Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence- not just for Clemson football, but anywhere in the country.

Together, Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence combined for 323 tackles, 58.5 tackles for loss and 26 sacks during their time with Clemson football.

The duo played a total of three years together and combined for a weight of 665 pounds their last year together.

Not only were Wilkins and Lawrence dominant interior linemen, they also were key contributors on the offensive side of the ball. Wilkins scored three touchdowns and Lawrence had one as they combined to form what became known as the “jumbo package” for Clemson football.

Both of these guys are projected to go in the first round of the NFL Draft and I expect them to have long, successful years with their respective franchises.

The truth is: There will never be another Wilkins-Lawrence duo. Not just for Clemson football, but in all of College Football.

Historical Duo…

The raw talent and ability that Wilkins and Lawrence both possessed is just uncanny. Most teams would be excited to have just one of those guys on their roster. Clemson had two.

These guys are historical talents.

Both Wilkins and Lawrence have all the tools, assets and abilities to be elite defensive tackles, not just in college, but at the next level. That’s how good Clemson’s interior line has been the past couple of seasons.

To have two guys of this caliber on campus at the same time, it’s basically impossible.

5 things we learned during the 2018 season. dark. Next

I’m not doubting that Clemson football will get more talented guys that are NFL-caliber players, but there will never be another Wilkins-Lawrence duo…anywhere.

These are once-in-a-generational type talents and I think we need to all take time to appreciate what both players were able to do for the Tiger program during their time on campus.
