The 2019 Clemson football schedule was released Wednesday afternoon. Here’s our early thoughts and analysis as the Tigers begin the title defense.

The 2019 Clemson football schedule has been released.

The Tigers are coming off of a year in which they finished with a perfect 15-0 record and won the National Championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Clemson also came away with a Cotton Bowl victory over Notre Dame and its fourth-straight ACC Championship.

The Tigers will begin their title defense with a Thursday night game at home against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, which will be the debut game of the new ACC Network. That was previously announced, as well as the non-conference matchups against Texas A&M, Charlotte, __ and South Carolina.

Here is a look at the full 2019 schedule for the Tigers.

2019 Clemson Football Schedule:

  • Aug. 29 (Thursday): vs. Georgia Tech (ACC Network)
  • Sept. 7: vs. Texas A&M
  • Sept. 14: @ Syracuse
  • Sept. 21: vs. Charlotte
  • Sept. 28: @ North Carolina
  • Oct. 5: BYE WEEK
  • Oct. 12: vs. Florida State
  • Oct. 19: @ Louisville
  • Oct. 26: vs. Boston College
  • Nov. 2: vs. Wofford
  • Nov. 9: @ NC State
  • Nov. 16: vs. Wake Forest
  • Nov. 24: BYE
  • Nov. 30: @ South Carolina

Early Thoughts, Analysis:

Normally, I’m not a big fan of Thursday night games, but I think it’ll be fun to open the College Football season with a Thursday night game to debut the new ACC Network.

I know most disagree with me, but it will give the Tigers a chance to flex their muscles on an empty stage to begin the season.

It also gives Clemson a few extra days to prepare for Texas A&M, a matchup that could end up the ESPN College GameDay game of the week early in the season.

After that, I’d like to point out that we’ve got two bye weeks, which is interesting.

Next. Justyn Ross's billboard beats Bama a second time. dark

Overall, the Tigers still don’t have back-to-back road games, which is favorable and I think those bye weeks come at great times.
