The Clemson football team won the National Championship in 2018, making it twice in the last three years. The Tigers’ win is going to help the ACC Network.

Millions of dollars have been invested in the newly established ACC Network.

The network, after years of planning, is set to launch later in 2019 and will broadcast the first conference game of the season, which will air on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Who will be the first teams to play? It’ll be Clemson football hosting Georgia Tech.

The game will be on a Thursday evening and, honestly, the network couldn’t have gotten a better outcome than what it did to launch.

What do I mean?

Who cares about the opponent? The biggest football program in the conference right now is Clemson and it’s not even close. Honestly, the Tigers are one of the biggest football programs in the nation.

The ACC Network is going to have the opportunity to promote the Tigers all summer. You’re going to see ads about the high-octane Clemson football offense featuring Trevor Lawrence, Justyn Ross, Tee Higgins, Travis Etienne and Amari Rodgers.

The game is going to be in Clemson, the best atmosphere in the conference.

The network will be able to have analysis talking about Clemson’s chance of repeating as National Champions. They’ll be able to fill plenty of space with the Tigers’ highlights in the run to the National Championship and have interviews with Dabo Swinney and other Clemson football players about the upcoming season.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few “30-for-30” style programming spotlighting Clemson and the program that Dabo has built early on.

Next. Hunter Renfrow will undoubtedly be missed. dark

The truth of the matter is that Clemson just won the ACC Network subscribers. Without a powerhouse like Clemson in its league, the ACC Network would be nothing more than a chance to air some more basketball games.

The Tigers changed that and, honestly, it’s going to show early just how important Clemson football is to the success of the ACC Network.
