There’s but one phrase that can describe Clemson football in 2018. It’s something that has been echoed through the team since early October.

“Leave no doubt.”

That’s what Dabo Swinney told his players before Clemson football took on the NC State Wolfpack early in October of 2018.

For those of you that don’t remember, the Tigers came away with a huge 41-7 win over the Wolfpack in a game where many national analysts were picking NC State to upset Clemson at home.

Ever since then, that phrase has been echoed around the program.

Throughout the months of October and November, Clemson continued to come away with impressive, dominant victories over ACC teams.

The Tigers did it in different ways. There were weeks where the rushing attack took the game over. There were weeks when Clemson chose to go “Air Trevor Lawrence.” Other times, the offense couldn’t get going early, so the defense proved to be dominant.

Against South Carolina, the defense had a tough time getting off the field, but the offense never stopped scoring.

Throughout the entire season, the Tigers were simply looking to leave no doubt.

Leave no doubt…

Flashback to December and we’re at the beginning of the College Football Playoff. Clemson didn’t care about what the national media said.

Most believed that the Tigers would win the game against Notre Dame and that’s exactly what they did. They didn’t just win the game, though. They came out and dominated.

So, what did the national media do? They said that Notre Dame just wasn’t a good team instead of giving credit to the Tigers.

Heading into the National Championship, Clemson was an underdog. We had been told all season that Alabama was the most dominant, talented team in College Football history.

So, what did Clemson do?

The team came out, dominated and left no doubt.

That’s the way this 2018 Clemson football team will be remembered. There’s no arguing that the Tigers were the best team in the nation.

They came, they saw, they conquered.

From beginning to end, they left no doubt.
