5-star Clemson football QB target DJ Uiagalelei, a California native, was able to watch the Tigers dominate Alabama live in the National Championship.

I know that many Clemson football fans may have complained about the National Championship game being all the way in Santa Clara, California.

It was a long trip and very lucrative voyage to make, especially after traveling to Dallas just a week and a half earlier.

But, what if I told you that the game being over in California may actually have proven to be profitable for the Clemson football program? It very well may seem that way, at least right now in the current scope of things.

As most know, 5-star quarterback DJ Uiagalelei- the nation’s No. 1 player in the 2020- was at the game and got to see the Tigers dismantle Alabama on their way to their second National Championship in the past three years.

From all accounts, Uiagalelei enjoyed his trip- which was actually quite a drive across the state- and he got to see firsthand one of the most dominant games in the history of Clemson football.

He saw the Tigers celebrate and got to hear Clelin Ferrell and Christian Wilkin’s glorious recruiting pitch right after winning the National Championship.

You can’t get much better recruitment than that.

From everything we’ve gathered, Clemson is the favorite to win his services right now. Oregon seems to be the main competition, but the Tigers are the leaders currently. That doesn’t mean that things can’t change, though.

Uiagalelei is scheduled to be back on campus for Clemson’s spring game a little later this year. He wants his mom to see the campus and get a feel for the family atmosphere.

Next. Clemson is the early favorite to win the 2019 Natty. dark

There’s a shot that we could see him make a decision very soon. It will be interesting to see how his recruitment unfolds and if the Tigers can close out on what may very well be a quarterback just as talented as the past two huge gets in Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.
