Clemson Football: Trevor Lawrence is best QB in all of CFB
You can take any quarterback in the nation, I’ll stick with Clemson football’s Trevor Lawrence. The freshman proved his value Monday in the National Championship.
Clemson football freshman Trevor Lawrence proved Monday night to be the best quarterback in all of College Football, in my opinion.
The freshman wasn’t rattled and absolutely tore apart the Alabama defensive backfield in an effort that earned him Offensive MVP.
Lawrence finished the night completing 20-of-32 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns, to no picks.
The quarterback he was dueling against- Tua Tagovailoa- finished the night 22-of-34 for 295 yards and two touchdowns, as well as two interceptions.
Now, I understand that all things are not equal.
The Tigers clearly had the more physical defense and more depth. But, after looking back at that game, I just was in awe of what Trevor Lawrence was able to do.
He did what no quarterback has ever done against Alabama.
He made the Tide uncomfortable. He picked apart their secondary. He made them pay for blitzing and stood in the pocket in the face of pressure. Lawrence took a few shots and, yet, continued to put the ball right on the money.
That’s a sign of an elite NFL quarterback…
If Trevor Lawrence was able to come out of college right now, he’d be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. As a matter of fact, if Lawrence decided to sit out his final two years of college and just focus on preparing for the NFL Draft, he’d be the No. 1 pick in 2021 draft.
He’s just that good.
Trevor Lawrence has an arm unlike any other quarterback that I’ve seen in recent history. He is calm and plays with a chip on his shoulder. He doesn’t get rattled and has all the measurables to be one of the greatest to ever play the position. He’s a great leader for Clemson football.
I respect Kyler Murray. I respect Tua Tagovailoa and Will Grier and some of the other quarterbacks from around the nation. But if there was a fantasy draft of College Football this year, Trevor Lawrence is the top pick.
Why?
Because we all know who the best quarterback in College Football is. He has flowy hair and wears orange and purple.
