Part of winning a National Championship is having to deal with turn over. Expect Clemson football to have several juniors declare for the NFL Draft.

Those Clemson football players that are juniors know what it’s like to win two National Championships.

That’s a special feeling.

When you come away with that feeling, you get to a point where you’re just not sure if there’s anything left to accomplish. Now, of course there is.

But, you have to put yourself in their shoes.

Most of these juniors are already chomping at the bit to become professional football players. Many of them know that their draft status may be in question, but that they’ll get a great chance to sign with a team as a free agent and still make the league minimum, which is a lot of money.

That’s why, in my opinion, I’d expect Clemson football to see a lot of those juniors choose to forego their final year of eligibility and chase their dreams of becoming NFL players. It may not be the decision that we’d want or advise, but you can’t fault any of them that would choose to make that decision, especially after helping lead the Tigers to two National Championships in the last three years.

We already heard from Trayvon Mullen, Dexter Lawrence and Tre Lamar Wednesday that they’d be declaring for the NFL Draft.

Those really come at no surprise.

Some of the juniors that will have to make decisions include: Clelin Ferrell, Isaiah Simmons, K’Von Wallace, Tavien Feaster (possible transfer) and Tanner Muse.

I’d expect to see several of those guys- Clelin Ferrell and Dexter Lawrence are locks- declare for the NFL Draft. There will be a couple, in my opinion, that may choose to come back to school, but the majority seem to really be eyeing a shot at the NFL.

You can’t blame guys either way, and we wish them the best no matter what they decide to do.
