Here are our picks against the spread for the 2018-19 New Year’s Six and College Football Playoff bowl games this coming week.

The College Football bowl season is heating up.

We will be seeing a ton of great games this week through the rest of the holiday season and into the New Year.

Here are our picks against the spread for the New Year’s Six games and the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Selection Committee Bowl Games:

Texas vs. Georgia (Sugar Bowl):

Spread Prediction:  Georgia is a 13-point favorite over the Longhorns. The Longhorns have played better down the stretch. I’m taking the Bulldogs straight-up, but I think Texas keeps it closer than that spread says.

UCF vs. LSU (Fiesta Bowl):

Spread Prediction: LSU is a 7.5-point favorite. The Tigers probably have the advantage up front with physicality, but UCF- in my opinion- has more athletes. I’m taking the Knights to cover that spread and, possibly even win the game outright.

Ohio State vs. Washington (Rose Bowl):

Spread Prediction: Ohio State is a 6.5-point favorite in what will be Urban Meyer’s final game, at least for a while. Of course, Meyer will still be teaching class at the University after that. I think the Buckeyes win the game for Meyer and cover that spread.

Michigan vs. Florida (Peach Bowl):

Spread Prediction: Michigan is a 6.5-point favorite, despite the fact that basically every player with any kind of NFL aspirations will be sitting this one out- seemingly anyway. This is going to be the most boring of all the games and, honestly, I don’t like either team. In the end, I think the Wolverines get the job done and win by a touchdown, just barely covering that spread.

College Football Playoff:

*We will be giving you our spread prediction for Clemson vs. Notre Dame later this week. Make sure you come back here to Rubbing the Rock for an in-depth article on that prediction.*

Alabama vs. Oklahoma (Orange Bowl):

Spread Prediction: Alabama is a two-touchdown favorite over Oklahoma. The Crimson Tide are currently 14 point favorites. I know that Alabama has looked dominant this season, but I think Kyler Murray and that Oklahoma offense keeps them in the game.

I’m not saying that Oklahoma wins the game outright, but this game will be closer than 14 points.

Next. Notre Dame becoming the trendy pick vs. Clemson. dark
