Clemson football’s Trayvon Mullen’s 2019 NFL Draft stock has trended downwards, according to several sources, but it may not be enough to get him to stay.

Clemson football junior Trayvon Mullen has a big decision to make following the 2018 season.

Before the season began, Mullen was projected as a second-round pick with the chance of moving into the first-round in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Over this season, though, his draft stock has trended downward, according to Walter Football.

NFL Draft Stock:

Mullen is currently the 15th best cornerback prospect, according to Walter Football. He is projected between as a third and fourth round pick.

Walter Football said that several NFL Executives say that Mullen has first-or-second round talent, but hasn’t lived up to that potential this season. Because of that, they have become disappointed in what they’ve seen and don’t believe he’ll be selected in the first couple of rounds.

This certainly creates a bit of tough a decision for Mullen to make.

He can either elect to come back for school for a year and try to improve his draft stock or he can take his chances this season and perhaps take a later draft selection with the hopes of moving up the ranks in the right organization.

We will have a bit more in-depth look at each of the juniors who have a decision to make this season, but I tend to believe that Mullen is leaning more towards leaving and heading to the NFL Draft this season.

If you’re a fourth-round selection, you’ll still make fairly good money and be given a shot. If he’s selected by the right franchise, Mullen could quickly work his way up as a backup cornerback.

I’d certainly like to see him return for one more season with Clemson football, but my gut-feeling just tells me this CFB Playoff run is probably the final one for him.
