Clemson football has several upperclassmen that could choose to enter the 2019 NFL Draft. Here’s an early look at who some of those juniors are.

The Clemson football team has several talented upperclassmen leading the way this season.

The Tigers are currently 13-0 and heading to the College Football Playoff to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

After finishing this playoff run, we’re going to see several juniors have to make a tough decision between returning to school for another year or entering the 2019 NFL Draft.

Here’s an early look at some of those upperclassmen. Later this month, we’ll give you our prediction on each one of those Tigers and their decision.

Clemson Football Juniors/Upperclassmen

Offense:

  • Garrett Williams*

There aren’t really any juniors that should be considering leaving early for the 2019 NFL Draft. There’s a chance that a few choose to transfer- perhaps at wide receiver or something like that- but there really aren’t any draft-ready players in the junior or redshirt sophomore class for the Tigers on offense.

Garrett Williams is considering leaving the program early after this season to pursue a commission in the marine corps or to play another season.

Defense:

  • Clelin Ferrell, redshirt junior
  • Dexter Lawrence, junior
  • Isaiah Simmons, redshirt sophomore
  • Tre Lamar, junior
  • K’Von Wallace, junior
  • Tanner Muse, redshirt junior
  • Trayvon Mullen, junior

There are a lot of guys on the defensive side of the ball that could potentially be making a decision about the NFL Draft.

Personally, I think the only two that should make the decision to leave early would be Clelin Ferrell and Dexter Lawrence, who both have the potential to be first-rounders.

Tre Lamar may have a chance to be a mid-rounder, but the rest of the guys are probably late-rounders at best.

Everybody has different things going on in their lives that affect their decisions. Many of these guys may decide that being a late-draft pick or signing with a team as a free agent is more important than another year to improve their draft stock. In the end, you have to respect the kid’s decision no matter what they outcome may be.

At this point, though, I’d expect the vast majority of these guys to choose to stay another year.
